Spicy Chicken Masala


  • 4 Chicken breasts
  • 1 tablespoon Butter
  • 1 teaspoon of each: garam masala,curry powder,chilli powder
  • 1 white onion, 1 red onion, 3 cloves garlic,1 inch ginger
  • 4 Tomatoes
  • Half a teaspoon of each:cumin,coriander, turmeric
  • Pinch of salt
  • 50 ml fresh cream or yoghurt


Chop your onion, garlic and ginger and tomato.

Melt butter in a pan. Add chopped onion, garlic and ginger. Sauté well, this will take a good ten minutes, add the tomatoes. Stir until everything is nice and soft.

Take the mixture off the pan and let it cool. Once it has cooled, blitz it with a blender, until it is a smooth paste.

In the same pan, melt some butter in the pan. Add in garam masala, chilli powder an turmeric. Stir well, until all the ingredients are absorbed into the butter and are nice and aromatic. Add in the blended paste. Stir continuously while cooking on a high heat. Add in the cumin and coriander.

Cook for 10 minutes. Add in the chicken breasts. Let them cook in the sauce until tender.

Add in half a teaspoon of masala. Stir well.

Add in cream or yoghurt.

Serve hot with rice.
