Vegan Banana Oats

This is an easy to make banana oats recipe. It is a great breakfast dish. Ready in 30 minutes.

I love eating oats for breakfast. I think it is a very underrated dish. Oats are cheap, they can last long in the cupboard, and they are so full of nutrients.

As a child, I loved eating oats the way my mom made it; with honey and a splash of milk. It always kept me full for so long, and it gave me that great warm feeling in my tummy.

We all have different ways of making oats, I personally prefer making it in a pot on the stove. Some people prefer making it in the microwave. I have seen many oats related explosions in our kitchen, so I am not that brave!

I usually have my oats for breakfast with a smoothie.

Equipment

  • Saucepan

Ingredients
  

  • 80 grams rolled oats
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 whole banana
  • 100 ml soy milk
  • 500 ml water

Instructions
 

  • Bring water to the boil in a small saucepan
  • Add in the rolled oats
  • Add in the salt
  • Cook until all the water is absorbed
  • Add in soy milk
  • Spoon oats into a bowl
  • Thinly slice the banana
  • Top the oats with the banana slices
